Logout Due to Inactivity
Why does TBX log me out if I don't interact with the program?
Security and the integrity of your records are core priorities for TBX, and we design every feature with your data protection in mind.
To safeguard your information from unauthorized access, TBX uses a sliding automatic logout. If the system detects no activity for eight (8) hours, it will securely sign you out. This protects your records in situations such as:
-
A computer being left unattended
-
A shared workstation being used by multiple technicians
-
A browser session remaining open after a shift change
-
Accidental access by someone without proper authorization
To help ensure you never lose progress, we strongly recommend saving your work before stepping away from your computer or switching to another browser window. If the automatic logout occurs before you click Save, any unsaved changes on that page will be lost.
This security measure also supports your compliance with 14 CFR §145.219, 14 CFR §43.12, and the digital‑recordkeeping standards outlined in AC 120‑78B. Maintaining strict access control is a key part of meeting FAA expectations for record accuracy, traceability, and accountability. Additionally, this policy lays the foundation for future TBX enhancements—such as electronic signatures and expanded audit‑trail capabilities—where secure authentication is essential.
We understand that automatic logout can sometimes feel inconvenient, but it is an important part of modern security best practices. Ultimately, it protects your data, your organization, and your regulatory compliance—while ensuring TBX remains a trusted, secure platform for your maintenance records.
