How to Create an Aircraft Profile

Aircraft profiles drive AD reports, work orders, invoices, and logbook records

Aircraft profiles are the "heartbeat" of the TBX system, allowing you to organize and quickly track work orders, create AD reports, invoices, quotes, and logbook records from one place.

1.  To create an aircraft profile, navigate to your member dashboard, scroll down to the "Aircraft Profiles" section and click the "+ Profile" button

2.  Search by N-Number OR by Make or Model. Searching by the N-Number is recommended when possible as it will import information such as the owner and serial number of the aircraft.  

3a.  When searching by N-number, click on the "Search by FAA Registered Aircraft" button.  

You can select the plane immediately by clicking on the Tail # highlighted in blue :

The next page is a summary of information on the plane.  Click the "+ Create Aircraft Profile" button.

Follow the steps in the Create Profile Wizard to quickly create an Aircraft Profile.

Step 1: Review the information to make sure that the aircraft data is the for the aircraft from which you want to create an aircraft profile.  If so, click "Next".

Step 2: Registered owner information can be edited or not added to your aircraft profile.  Click "Next".

Step 3: Select the engines you would like to add to your aircraft profile.  Click "Next"

Step 4: Based on the engine type listed in the FAA Aircraft Registry, Propellers may bot be available.  If it is, select the propeller you want to add to your aircraft profile.  Click "Next".

Step 5: Review your aircraft profile set up, if it is correct, click "+ Create Aircraft Profile".  To change any of the selections, click the "Previous" button to return to the step you would like to change.

An aircraft profile will be created from your selections.

 

3b.  Sometimes, searching by the N-number isn't possible.  In this case, search by manufacturer or model.  When searching by manufacturer or model, click on the "Search by Aircraft" button. 

3c. If you want to quick create an aircraft profile, click the "+ Profile" button.

3d. If you want to view FAA Registry Records to create a profile from, click the "View Registry Records" button.

4.  Whether you chose to search by N-Number or by make/model, you now have an Aircraft Profile for the aircraft  and can add pertinent information such as Tail#, Serial#, Aircraft times, the customer/owner, any photos, and any other related documents. To add this information, click on the Blue edit button next to the relevant category:

6.  You can add an engine and propeller on the tabs to the right:

7.  You will see your aircraft profile now in the list of Aircraft Profiles as well as on your Dashboard in the Aircraft Profile section.
