Create an Aircraft Profile from an N-Number
Quickly create an Aircraft Profile and Customer by looking up the aircraft N-number or serial number
TBX allows users to search the aircraft registry and pull up the aircraft registration info to quickly create aircraft profiles and new customers.
Note - if you do not see the "+ Aircraft Profile" button - jump to the bottom of this article.
To start, click on the "Aircraft Profiles" item in the NavBar.
Click the + Add Aircraft Profile button
Enter your FAA Registered N#, i.e. "N64962" and then click the "Search by FAA Registered Aircraft" button on the right. Note: If your aircraft is not registered with the FAA, you will need to use the Search By Aircraft option.
From the search results list, click the N# of your aircraft.
Click on "Create an Aircraft Profile" to make this into an aircraft profile:
It will prompt you if you want to create a customer as well by checking the box to "add this customer to My Customers and assign to the aircraft profile". Click on "+ New Profile" to complete.
Now you have a new aircraft profile with the customer already created and you can add the engine and prop:
Why am I not seeing the "+Aircraft Profile" button?
Not all models within the aircraft registry "line up" to the AD database cleanly. If you are attempting to add an aircraft profile for one of these makes/variants, i.e. Challengers, you won't see the button to create the profile. It will look something like this:
For these aircraft, create the profile using the make/model method. Remember to search only one of the make/model fields first (less is more). Our data team is continuing to map, cleanse, and re-tag these variants to ensure accurate AD information is provided to the end user.
